The weekly Thursday Night Football odds boost from FanDuel Sportsbook at MotorCity Casino has a week off to recover from its first loss.
The weekly FanDuelNFL special was 4-0 to start the season before last week’s wager for the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to score at least a touchdown in each half faltered.
No touchdowns were scored in the entire second half, which meant the bet — boosted from +205 to +260 — went down.
More odds boosts and free plays will be available to online customers after sports betting apps launch later this year. But for now, odds boosts and sports promos are available at retail books in the state.
With no Thursday game on the slate for NFL Week 6, let’s take a look at the Sunday odds boosts offered at the in-person sportsbook at MotorCity.
Sunday’s odds boosts include three-team parlay
- FanDuel DFS NFL Lineup Advice: Super Bowl LV. This headline is what most football fans are probably hoping for in the Super Bowl and what the Vegas line tells us with the Chiefs as about a.
- Whether you play FanDuel, DraftKings, or FantasyDraft, SportsLine uses data driven analysis to give you recommendations for the best possible daily fantasy picks.
MotorCity does not include an odds boost on the Detroit Lions at Jacksonville Jaguars game this Sunday.
But there is a special three-team moneyline parlay deal being offered by the book.
Bettors would need Baltimore to top Philadelphia, Pittsburgh to beat Cleveland, and Green Bay to overtake Tampa Bay to win the parlay. Odds have been boosted from +240 to +300.
The bet is available only at MotorCity Casino kiosks and there is a $200 maximum bet allowed.
FanDuel odds boosts are a common sight in Detroit
The FanDuel Thursday odds boosts were perfect in the first four weeks of the season.
The winning bets were:
- On the season’s opening night, the boosted bet had Patrick Mahomes throwing three or more touchdowns and leading Kansas City to victory against Houston. The regular +154 odds paid out at +250.
- In Week 2, in-state rivals Cincinnati and Cleveland needed to score more than 9.5 points in the first quarter with the Browns winning in the end. That +169 bet boosted to +250.
- Jacksonville and Miami played in Week 3. Both teams scoring at least a touchdown apiece in each half cashed a bet that paid off at +200, boosted from +142.
- In Week 4, Denver and the New York Jets cashed a two-leg parlay by scoring 15 or more points apiece, a bet boosted from +104 to +140.
Boosts could boost MI sports betting for MotorCity
The FanDuel Sportsbook at MotorCity has been more popular since football season started in September.
Most Thursdays, the crowd has been strong at MotorCity, especially in the moments leading to kickoff.
MotorCity’s nearly $13 million handle in September drew closer to MGM Grand Detroit, which still leads at $14.6 million in bets.
MotorCity’s 38.7% market share for Detroit casino sports betting was an improvement over March and August. In those partial months of sports betting, MGM took slightly less than half of the bets. MotorCity was at 32.5%.
The gain in handle may have more to do with NFL kickoff in early September than anything else. But offers such as weekly odds boosts and parlays certainly help keep some of the spotlight on MotorCity and FanDuel Sportsbook.

FanDuel lineups could get hurt by game postponements in the NFL, but as of right now, this lineup looks like the best.
Last week, there were likely three ways your lineup got paid through FanDuel's daily fantasy lineup. You either had Tyreek Hill on your team, you had Derrick Henry on your team or more than likely you had both on your team. Henry ended the day with 37.5 FanDuel points and Hill ended the day with a ridiculous 51.4 FanDuel points. Close to 20 percent of FanDuel lineups had Hill on them. If you weren't one of them, it's nearly impossible to make up that kind of deficit.
There were a lot of high-scoring players last week. Kenyan Drake, James Robinson, Latavius Murray, and Nick Chubb are just some of the other options that hit the 20-point mark. Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, and Jarvis Landry are some of the few wide receivers to really break out this week. However, the key was still Henry and Hill.
Interestingly enough, nine of the top ten scoring teams in Fanduel not only had Hill, but they paired him with his quarterback Patrick Mahomes. His 31 points helped push a lot of these teams over the top. It shows the importance of the top three positions. Sure, it seems obvious, but every week, to get in the money, players have to hit on their quarterback, their top running back, and their top wide receiver. Missing out on even one of them could lead to disaster for a lineup.
Last week, there were some bombs. Dalvin Cook's largely forgettable day was due to injury. His $11,000 price tag tanked quite a few lineups (32.3 percent of lineups to be exact). This week, finding the right combination of star and longshot will be key in winning cash on your FanDuel lineup.
Quarterback: Philip Rivers $7,000
This is a very strange week for quarterbacks. Justin Herbert is taking on the New England Patriots and might not be worth the risk against that secondary ($7,900). Kyler Murray is dealing with a shoulder injury that clearly hurt his value last week against those same Patriots ($8,700). Russell Wilson is facing the putrid New York Giants secondary, but without Daniel Jones, it could be a Chris Carson game. Deshaun Watson plays an Indianapolis Colts team without Will Fuller, who was suspended ($8,200). This is how this lands on the surprising answer of Philip Rivers.
Obviously, this is somewhat of a risk, which is scary at the quarterback position. However, he's had at least 16 points in five of his last six matchups and 20 in three of those. This week, he's facing a Houston Texans team that will have a lot of trouble stopping the Colts offense. Rivers could make a mistake and throw an interception, but he could have four touchdowns through the air against this secondary.
Plus, the Texans are going to be slinging it as much as possible. Without Fuller, it will be hard for Watson to really make as much of an impact as he has in weeks past. He might do well since he's had an extra three days off, but that's also a risk. Also, Denico Autry and DeForest Buckner will likely return from the COVID list barring any setbacks.
Rivers is going to have a lot of opportunities to throw, and Frank Reich will put together a gameplan to help him win. The Texans defense can get pressure sometimes, but Rivers has 25-30 point upside this week playing against this secondary.
Other Options: Aaron Rodgers $8,500, Ryan Fitzpatrick $7,400
Running Back: Chris Carson $8,000
Just in the last slide, it was pointed out that the Seattle Seahawks could be looking to crush the New York Giants on the ground. Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf are impossible to stop with a good secondary, let alone this one. However, Carson should be the workhorse in this game after proving he was healthy last week.
The Giants have weirdly won three-straight games, but Jones is likely going to miss the game with a calf injury. That likely leads to a rough Giants offense led by Colt McCoy. Wayne Gallman should get a lot of looks but expect to see some turnovers from Big Blue. This will give the Seahawks great field position and avoids the need for too many posts by Metcalf. This will provide scoring opportunities to Carson that he might not otherwise see.
The Seahawks have clearly missed Carson, who helps provide balance to the offense. Carlos Hyde and DeeJay Dallas haven't been able to carry the load like Carson. The Seahawks gave Hyde more touches last week in Carson's return, but that shouldn't happen again. Carson outgained Hyde on fewer carries and scored an impressive touchdown. Head coach Pete Carroll has raved about Carson's performance, and this should lead to more touches starting this week against a depleted Giants team.
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (41): (Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports)
Running Back: Alvin Kamara $7,400
Wait, Alvin Kamara is going for a running back two price? This might make a lot of Fanduel players skeptical, but when the game gives you a gift, take it. Kamara has not had the impact he had when Drew Brees was under center. Even his backup was getting the majority of touches last week in a drubbing of the quarterback-less Denver Broncos. However, this is the big rivalry game with the Atlanta Falcons. Whenever Sean Payton has had the chance to drop a hammer on Atlanta, he takes it. That happens with Kamara dominating.
The Falcons statistically do well against running backs. They held Josh Jacobs in check last week, although some of that was injury-related. Just two weeks ago, they held Kamara for 45 yards, one rushing touchdown, and zero catches for the first time all season. Hill hasn't looked for Kamara and instead tries to run when he gets in trouble. Atlanta will game plan for that, which will force the Saints' offense to pivot.
The other running backs in this price range include Alexander Mattison and Miles Sanders. Kamara is much more of a guarantee. He's usually in the $8,500 range. For most of the season, he was almost a lock for 20 points every game. The last two games should not concern players too much. If Tayson Hill really is the Saints' quarterback of the future, then he needs to learn how to get Kamara involved in the offense. It starts this week.
Other Options: Austin Ekeler $7,000, Derrick Henry $10,000
© Provided by Fansided Tennessee TitansTennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown (11): (Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports)
Wide Receiver: A.J. Brown $8,200
A.J. Brown has quietly become one of the most reliable wide receivers in the NFL this season. Since returning from injury on October 13th, he's had double-digit points in every game besides one. This is in an offense that is going all-in on Derrick Henry in the backfield. Brown still has 23 points despite Henry's big day. There is enough to go around in this offense.
The Cleveland Browns have been lucky to face an extremely easy schedule as of late. The Titans are by the best team they've played in a month. They still allowed 96 yards and a touchdown receiving to Collin Johnson last week, who came into the game with 69 yards on the season. Teams can hurt the Browns through the air.
Cleveland allows close to 30 points per game to the wide receiver position. It might not sound like a lot, but it's in the bottom half of teams in the league. Teams can throw on this team with anyone at quarterback. It'll be much easier with a team that has a good quarterback wide receiver combo. That's not exactly what we call Johnson-Mike Glennon.
The Browns will also be going all out to stop Henry. That is going to open up lanes for Brown over and over again. Brown has touchdowns in seven of the last eight games. He's been able to hit paydirt with ease. With Henry always a threat, teams cannot afford to double team Brown. Then there's Corey Davis, who has something of a career revival. There are enough weapons in Tennessee that they always know Brown will be open.
© Provided by Fansided Los Angeles RamsLos Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (10): (Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports)
Wide Receiver: Cooper Kupp $5,600
With Jared Goff goes Cooper Kupp. It's a stressful fantasy lifestyle having to depend on someone as inconsistent as Goff under center. He was awful last week, and therefore Kupp's fantasy production suffered. It seems to be an every other week situation with Goff. That is why Kupp will score 15-20 one week and then under ten the next. It comes down to quarterback.
The Arizona Cardinals have been about league average against the pass this year. It likely has a lot to do with Cam Newton's terrible fantasy day ruining the margins last week. Still, this isn't an awful secondary. They allowed a combined 21 catches, 202 yards, and two touchdowns to Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley two weeks ago. Kupp can definitely get points against this Cardinals secondary.
Fanduel Nfl Lines Week 9
It's still hard to tell whether the Rams are actually good or not. They added a lot of wins against the NFC East, which is basically cheating. Sean McVay needs to show he can get his team up for a big matchup. The Cardinals offense sputtered last week against the Patriots. The Rams secondary going up against a clearly injured Kyler Murray might be able to give the Rams offense ample chances to score. If Kupp is giving too many chances to score, he's eventually going to score. This is a great value at $5,600.
Other Options: Metcalf $8,500, Justin Jefferson $7,500

Wide Receiver: Allen Lazard $5,600
The Green Bay Packers offense has been hitting on all cylinders since Allen Lazard returned to the field. He missed close to two months with a core injury, and a scary hit on Sunday had some worried he could go back on the shelf. It was unfortunate because he didn't play much after the hit, but it looks like he'll be fine to go moving forward.
Lazard already had 10 points when he left last week's contest, hauling in four balls and a touchdown. It's clear Aaron Rodgers wanted to get him involved in the offense. He's a nice secondary weapon for those rare instances that Davante Adams isn't open.
The Packers are taking on a depleted Philadelphia Eagles team. Carson Wentz looked better against the Seahawks last week, but most of his production was thanks to a couple of big throws instead of a consistent offense. There is still that fumble and interception-prone quarterback under center for the Eagles.
This will eventually give Rodgers and the Packers' offense easy opportunities to score. Rodgers has shown this season he's going to cut teams at the knees when they give him a chance to. Lazard could easily get two touchdowns in this contest and help win you money this week.
Other Low-Cost Options: Corey Davis $6,100, Michael Pittman Jr. $5,600
Tight End: Evan Engram $6,000
The New York Giants offense is going to look completely different with Colt McCoy under center. Daniel Jones hurt his calf, and some reports say it could be significant. That's bad news for the first-place Giants (gross) as they try to hold onto the NFC East lead. To do that, the team's weapons have to step up.
One player that's been stepping up as of late is tight end Evan Engram. He scored the second-most points for a tight end last week with a 129-yard performance. He should be able to keep it going against a Seahawks defense that still has some holes. They allowed Dallas Goedert to catch seven balls for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Engram might get some double teams this week, but a decent game plan by head coach Joe Judge and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett should be able to alleviate anything the Seahawks can do. Engram is a great talent at a position that's devoid of talent. If Engram can even get you ten points on a weekly basis, he's well worth whatever price he has.
This position is such a mess that any player that's doing remotely well needs consideration. There's no George Kittle the rest of the season. There's no Travis Kelce since he's playing on national television. Rob Gronkowski's Buccaneers are on a bye this week. It's a down week for a tight end position that's had a down season. Engram makes the most sense, especially at the price point.
Other Options: Goedert $6,200, Robert Tonyan $5,900
Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery (32): (Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports)
FLEX Option: David Montgomery $6,200
David Montgomery is a roller coaster most of us wouldn't sign up for on a weekly basis, but the Chicago Bears showed what they plan to do with Mitch Trubusky under center. Head coach Matt Nagy and the rest of the Bears brass know if he's trying to throw them to a win, it will end badly. So, they go with their talented but flawed running back David Montgomery.
This week, it paid major dividends for the few who are still playing Montgomery. Under the radar, Montgomery has been playing well as of late. He's only bombed in one game in his last eight. Getting nine points from a running back isn't great, but if that's the floor for the FLEX option, then it's not so bad.
Fanduel Nfl Lines Odds
Montgomery finally hit the peak he hit in Week 2 against the Giants. He started it early when he had a 57-yard rush on the second play for the Bears offense. That might have been it for him in other matchups, but against the Packers, he kept producing. He ended with 22 points, his best performance of the year.
The most exciting part of the performance was that he caught four balls for 40 yards and a touchdown. Trubisky is using him even when the team is down huge. Trubusky went to Montgomery and Allen Robinson. He went for the most talented players on his offense even when the Bears were down. It shows he will likely continue to be a big part of the offense moving forward.
Other Low-Cost Options: Damien Harris $5,900, Devontae Booker $6,000
© Provided by Fansided Las Vegas RaidersAtlanta Falcons defensive tackle Jacob Tuioti-Mariner (91): (Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports)
Defense: Las Vegas Raiders $4,300
The Las Vegas Raiders defense is not good. This isn't going to blow smoke up a defense that doesn't deserve it. This is clearly a matchup decision. The Raiders are taking on the New York Jets, the worst offense the NFL has seen in a long time.
Sam Darnold was bad again. He threw two bad interceptions against the Miami Dolphins. Now, he faces a Raiders defense that is desperate. It's a Raiders defense that just gave up 43 points against the Atlanta Falcons this week. That's unacceptable, and head coach Jon Gruden will likely remind them of the beating they took this past Sunday.
That motivation shouldn't be too hard to turn into execution against a Jets offense that hasn't ever looked good with Darnold under center. The Jets say they are sticking with the young gun, but those accuracy issues will not fix themselves in one week. The Raiders could score multiple defensive touchdowns, and this could be the highest-scoring defense on the week. Again, this isn't to pump up the Raiders' defense. This is to bet against a New York Jets offense that is the easiest to bet against in the league.
